Alan Shearer celebrated an act of revenge against Sunderland as Newcastle United cruised to a comfortable derby victory at St James' Park.
Craig Bellamy was the star of the show, handing the Magpies a lead in only 84 seconds with his first goal of the season.
Skipper Shearer held the ball up before laying it inside to Kieron Dyer, who released Bellamy with a first time pass.
And the Welsh international used all his pace to sprint clear and slot a right foot shot under the diving Thomas Sorensen.
It was the Sunderland keeper who made Shearer's life a misery here two seasons ago when he saved the former England captain's penalty as the Black Cats claimed a 2-1 triumph.
A year earlier, when Sunderland also won 2-1, Shearer was humiliated when he was dropped to the bench in Ruud Gullitt's last match as Newcastle boss.
But Shearer was a picture of joy as he crashed home a right foot drive after Nolberto Solano had rolled a free kick into his path.
