A SCHOOL has been presented with an award for promoting healthy living for pupils and staff.
Yesterday, MP Alan Milburn presented staff and children at Branksome Comprehensive School, Darlington, with the County Durham and Darlington Healthy School Award.
The award is presented to schools that work to improve the health of children, teachers and parents.
Among the initiatives at Branksome was a sex education roadshow and a health day.
Headteacher Linda Hartley said: "We are delighted to receive this important award, particularly since very few secondary schools have so far received it. It reflects the all-round success of the school.
