REDUNDANT buildings on Kirkbymoorside's industrial estate are set to be converted into a coach depot which will result in a better bus service for local people, the town council has said.
Stephensons of Easingwold wants to set up the coach operating centre at Dove Way, Kirby Mills, which will provide the company with better security and the people of the area with a link to bus and train services at York.
CHARITY CHALLENGE: The Children Today charity is looking for people to take part in its Ultimate Challenge in March next year to help needy children. OPEN HOUSE: An appeal to raise money for the organ at St Mary's Church, in Richmond, is to benefit when Jean Wrangham opens her garden to the public this weekend. Opening hours at 7 Millgate are between 10am and 5pm on Sunday.
ABBEY DEERr: The National Trust is running a series of deer walks at the Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal estate near Ripon. The two-mile, two-hour walks to see the 500-strong herd of wild deer will start from the visitor centre at 2pm on October 5, 13 and 23.
COFFEE MORNING: The Booth Hall in Catterick Village will be one of thousands of venues around the country taking part in the Macmillan Cancer Relief Fund's annual world's biggest coffee morning. All are welcome from 10am until noon on Friday. Money raised will go towards the cost of training specialist nurses who work at the charity's treatment centres.
