FAMILIES are invited to take in scenic views of the countryside during a city-to-city ramble.
The 12-mile walk from Sunderland to Durham will begin at Penshaw Monument, at 10am tomorrow and end at Durham Cathedral at 4pm.
It will include the River Wear Trail and Finchale Abbey, as well as other areas of local interest and wildlife havens.
Participation in the walk, which has been organised by Sunderland's Countryside Team, is free.
However, because return transport is being arranged, booking is essential.
The event marks the final activity in the Sunderland countryside events summer programme, which began in May.
Participants should book by calling 0191-553 1555 and meet at the top of Penshaw Hill beside Penshaw Monument.
