A Week to forget for Quakers' boss Tommy Taylor ended with a battling 2-2 draw at home to Bournemouth this afternoon.
It began with the aftermath of the 4-1 drubbing at Hartlepool and was followed by Tuesday night's 1-0 reverse at York. A defeat today would have piled even more misery on Taylor but after battling back from a goal down, Darlington threw away two points with just seven minutes left.
Quakers started the game nervously and fell a goal behind after 26 minutes. Poor defensive work allowed Shaun Maher to pull the ball back into the six yard box from the left for Derek Holmes to fire the Cherries in front.
The goal seemed to galvanise Darlington and they hit back just after the half hour through new loan-signing Graham Fenton.
The former Blackburn Rovers and Aston Villa striker was on hand to stab home from five yards after Neil Moss had saved his first effort.
The home side dominated the second-half and went ahead on 73 minutes when Ian Clark's cross was headed into the path of Mark Ford who crossed for Barry Conlon to bundle home.
But before the Feethams' faithful could celebrate victory, a long ball from the left skimmed off the head of David McGurk, and Alan Connell fired in the equaliser.
