AN operatic society is looking for past members to join its centenary celebrations next year.
Chester-le-Street Operatic Society, in County Durham, was formed in 1903.
In its lifetime it has survived the closure of two major theatres, the Hippodrome and the Empire Theatre, and countless musical fads.
Now, the group meets at Park View Community Theatre and for next year's centenary celebrations, the society is digging out old programmes, memorabilia and photographs.
The group is inviting former members to a meal at Chilton Lodge Country Club, in Fencehouses, in November next year.
The meal will cost about £20-a-head and should include entertainment.
Past and present members of the group wanting to take part can contact Jackie Ranson on 0191-389 1314.
