SOME of the Darlington area's leading historic properties opened their doors open to the public at the weekend.
The town took centre stage in the Civic Trust's Heritage Open Days event, with 20 venues attracting visitors.
Properties included Walworth Castle, the Tees Cottage Pumping Station, the Crown Street public library and the Civic Theatre. Tours of the town's landmark clock tower were sold out.
