A GUIDE promoting goods made in Darlington has been published to encourage people to shop in the town.
Darlington Borough Council's Local Agenda 21 team has produced the booklet which aims to cover everything grown or made in a 50-mile radius of the town. It includes producers of organic milk, vegetables and cheese as well farm shops selling free-range food.
The Local Agenda 21 team promotes environmentally-friendly ways of living in Darlington. Rachel Wood from the team said: "Buying locally supports local businesses and is often cheaper and healthier for the consumer. It also benefits local animals, wildlife and countryside."
The booklet was launched at last week's farmers' market in the town.
Organisations which would like to be included in the booklet can call (01325) 388551.
