BRASS and silver bands from throughout the region took part in a special festival yesterday.
The Mayor's Brass Band Festival was held in Stockton High Street. Among those taking part were Felling Brass Band, Dunstan Silver Band, Marske Band, Billingham Silver Band and Trimdon Concert Brass Band. Youngsters from Tees Valley Youth Band also made an appearance.
Geraint Williams, Stockton's town centre manager, said: "This was a first for Stockton and we are hoping it will become an annual event in the town. Everybody who turned up was given a real treat with so much musical talent.
