PREPARATIONS are already under way for a Christmas pantomime production of Dick Whittington.
Buoyed by the success of last year's debut production of Cinderella by the D&B Panto Club, in Tudhoe and Croxdale, rehearsals for this year's pantomime and already going well.
Dick Whittington will be presented by the club as a traditional family pantomime, with a cast of more than 20 players, eight scene changes and colourful characters.
The Reverend Martin Wray, the show's producer, said: "Club members began rehearsals this month. They produce all their own scenery and a dazzling array of costumes which along with some amazing lighting and special effects will transport audiences on a magical journey in the best traditions of panto."
The D&B Panto Club was established in St David's Church, Tudhoe, and St Bartholomew's, Croxdale, with the aim of providing family fun for residents in the Spennymoor area.
Dick Whittington will be presented in St David's Church Centre, Tudhoe Lane, on December 12, 13 and 14.
Tickets cost £4 for adults and £2 for children. More than a third of seats have already been booked.
