Fans of the TV quiz show, The Weakest Link, can find out tomorrow how North-East student William Wearmouth has fared against the abrasive questioning of Anne Robinson.

Since he went to the BBC's Pinewood studios in London nearly two months ago to take part in a recording of the show, William, a farmer's son from County Durham, has kept very quiet about his performance.

William, 19, who is studying politics at Leeds University, has assured family and friends that he was not told "you are the weakest link" by the bitchy Ms Robinson at the start of the quiz show.

But all will be revealed when The Weakest Link is broadcast on BBC-2 at 5.15pm tomorrow. Rumour has it that William, whose family farm at Eastgate, in Weardale, was given such a tough time by Ms Robinson that afterwards she gave him "a consolation hug."

"If nothing else," said William, "I enjoyed an all-expenses-paid trip to London. It was also a remarkable experience."
