INVESTIGATIONS are continuing into the affairs of a charity which collapsed amid financial problems.
The Dial-a-Ride charity, in Darlington, which provided a taxi service for the elderly and disabled, folded in February after suffering serious money difficulties. Officials at the charity claimed the problems were caused by spiralling fuel and insurance costs, as well as a reduction in donations.
Following the charity's closure, the Charities Commission launched an investigation into its affairs.
The seven-month investigation has yet to reach any conclusions.
Yesterday, a spokeswoman for the commission said: "We are still looking at the affairs of Dial-a-Ride.
"We had a meeting with Durham Police last month and inquiries are continuing."
