THE ancient Duck Bridge in the moorland village of Danby in the North York Moors National Park is to undergo repairs.
The bridge, which dates from the 14th Century and is a Grade-II listed structure, has been identified by English Heritage as a monument at risk if restoration work is not carried out, said Graham Lees, the park's archaeologist.
Several years ago, in a bid to protect it, traffic was banned from using the bridge to cross the River Esk.
