AN 18-year-old man arrested by police investigating an alleged attack on a pensioner in his home was remanded in custody by magistrates yesterday.
Glen West, formerly from Frosterley, in Weardale, but now living in Cedar Crescent, Willington, is charged with aggravated burglary and unlawful wounding on Thursday last week.
A further charge of burglary relates to an incident at the same man's home on August 25.
Sedgefield magistrates sitting at Newton Aycliffe remanded him until October 1.
The pensioner, who is in his 70s, was treated in hospital and is now staying in a convalescent home.
