VISITORS to a city centre pub will be able to buy paintings as well as pints.
Saints, in Durham, is hosting an exhibition by fine art graduate Stephen Humph-ries, called A View of Durham. It includes paintings from the 23-year-old's degree show and recent work featuring computer generated images of Durham.
The exhibition, which will run throughout the autumn, has been organised by Saints curator Jaya Cauchy, as part of a programme to put art into the community.
She said: "The idea is to make art accessible within the city. It's also giving opportunities to artists who are fresh out of university to sell their work."
Mr Humphries, who recently moved to Sacriston from Merseyside, said: "I've had a really positive response. I've already sold two paintings."
More exhibitions are planned and any artists wishing to have work displayed or venues wishing to house an exhibition can contact Ms Cauchy on (01388) 730711.
