CONTROLLING the Legionella bacteria in water systems will be discussed at a North-East conference next month.
The bacteria has caused Legionnaire's Disease outbreaks that have claimed already accounted for several lives in the North-West and Midlands this year.
It will be discussed at the conference held by Productivity North-East.
Maintenance managers and engineers in the region will learn how to prevent the disease surfacing in their factory, office, sports club or hotel as well as getting information on new regulations.
Alan Milligan, the speaker, is a chartered chemist with 25 years' experience in water treatment.
Other topics include performance improvement, maintenance data management and outsourcing.
The all-day conference takes place on Thursday, October 10, at Newcastle Falcons Rugby Club ground.
