DYNAMIC duo, Gemma Dowson and Aimee Swales, are taking a business-like approach to their showbiz careers.
For singers Aimee, 17, and Gemma, 20, are keeping their future ambitions in their own hands - with impressive results.
Their act, Felany, was launched with the help of grants from the Prince's Trust and Social Enterprise Sunderland, making sure they have the equipment and finance they need to pursue their dream.
Gemma, from Newton Aycliffe, County Durham, and Aimee, from Houghton-le-Spring, have spent the past 12 months performing all over the UK with established pop acts such as Liberty X, Hear'Say, A1 and 3SL.
The girls met during auditions for a North-East girl band last year and later decided to go it alone in the hope of being offered a recording contract.
Gemma said: "We have both wanted to do this all our lives and being able to meet and perform on the same stage as people like Liberty X and A1 has made us even more determined."
