Crook Olde Horse Shoe completed the league and Cup doubles when they came through the Knock Out Final in style against Tow Law Station, winning 7-1.
The results were (Olde Horse Shoe names first) Gerald Parkin beat Lee Cullinan 2-0; Steve Hunter beat Steven Maughan 2-0; Gavin Witton and David Craggs drew 1-1; Stephen Liddle beat Tommy Sloan 2-0; Cliff Owen beat Malcolm Umpelby 1-0.
In a re-arranged league match, Henknowle Manor House beat the visiting Bishop Auckland RAFA Club by five points to strengthen their middle of the table position. The home side had two points from Peter Merner, Stephen Webb and Bill Turner with Jon Tomlinson adding one. In reply the RAFA had two points from David Gaskins and one from Steve Hambleton. The Manor took the doubles when Steve Webb and Bill Turner won.
The captains' games were shared between Peter Merner and Steve Hambleton.
Crook Olde Horse Shoe have already clinched the title and are fourteen points clear at the top with Crook Coach and Horses in second place, ten points ahead of Bishop Auckland Snooker Club B, who have a match in hand. Spennymoor Ashtree trail the Coach and Horses by twenty-three points but still have two matches in hand.
Tow Law League
Tow Law Dan's Castle A emphasised their strength in the top of the table clash at Tow Law North Point when they only dropped two points to move two points clear at the top of the table with two matches in hand. The North Point's only singles win came from Alan Henderson, who shook off his recent bad patch. The Castle winners were Ian Johnson, David Craggs, Anthony Hird, Jamie Dowson and Lee Furber. The Point's only other point came when Dave Morton and Gary Watson won the final doubles.
Tow Law Football Club moved two points above the North Point with a match in hand despite struggling at home against Tow Law New Market A. The footballers wne tfour up in the singles with wins from Terry Ginty, Les Hind, Jim Day and Arthur Henderson before the visitors scored through Stephen Laing and Bill Goodall. The home side took the vital fifth point when Keith Muse and Terry Ginty took a doubles point.

Bishop Auckland Area League
The new season of the league began with a change to the World Rules and a new format, where there are ten singles, two doubles and the captain's game. Two teams started the way they would like to go on by taking all ten singles games in their respective matches.
