A CALL centre jobs fair is being held today at Sunderland's Stadium of Light.
Job seekers will be able to get on-the-spot interviews for more than 400 vacancies at the event being held from noon to 6pm.
Major employers including T-Mobile, Royal Sun Alliance, Northern Rock, London Electricity and 2Touch will be there along with call centre training providers.
Dave Fuggle, senior customer service operations manager for T-Mobile, which employs 900 at Doxford, said: "We're looking for people of all age groups and backgrounds.
"Some might be already in work while others might be unemployed, college leavers, or maybe returning to work after a break.''
City council contact centre development officer Gary Barnfather said: "The contact centre industry is a rewarding and exciting place to work and this event is a fantastic opportunity to find out what the companies can offer, ask questions and ultimately get a job.
"Since the 1990s the contact centre industry has been constantly developing and Sunderland has experienced significant growth in this sector."
