A WORKSHOP designed to help groups bid for money has been set up in Stockton.
Sports groups are being offered the chance to go along to the workshop to discover how they can make applications for funding from Sport England.
Grants available range from £500 to £5,000 and can be used to start a new club or sport, to attract more people to play sport, or to train more coaches, volunteers or referees.
The Awards for All workshop has been arranged by Stockton Borough Council's Sports Development Team and will be held on Tuesday, October 8 at Castlegate Quay Watersports Centre, from 6.30pm to 9.30pm.
A representative from Sport England will be on hand to help people from local clubs complete the application forms to make funding bids.
Stockton Borough Council's sports development officer Claire Tennyson said: "Very often local sports clubs are wary of completing applications like this.
"We want to help them and show them how easy the process is to complete."
Anyone wanting an application form but who cannot attend the workshop can contact the sports development team on (01642) 358512/11.
