THE classic film Turn of the Tide, which was the first full-length cinema film to be made by J Arthur Rank, and which was set in Robin Hood's Bay, is to be screened at Whitby Community College on Saturday night as part of a weekend of celebrations of the author Leo Walmsley.
The film is based on Walmsley's book, Three Fevers, and was made in 1935.
Tomorrow, The Walmsley Society will be staging a display on the life and works of the author at the old Coastguard Station, at Robin Hood's Bay, where he lived for many years, together with a painting exhibition and demonstration by artist Howard Carlisle, with readings by society members from Walmsley's works.
