BUTTERWICK Hospice in Stockton is inviting people to take part in a Saltburn to Whitby walk to help it raise money.
The walk will take place on Sunday, October 6. Also, anyone interested in taking part in this year's Great North Run who is looking for a charity to support, is asked to Call Sarah Eldon on (01642) 624231.
NO PARKING: A proposal to restrict parking on two stretches of road in Redcar is being considered. Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council has given notice of a proposal to prohibit parking on one side of two sections of Coatham Road. One would be from a point 25 metres west of the Hamilton Grove junction for a distance of 102m to the west. The other would be from a point 160m west of the Hamilton Grove junction for a distance of 35m to the west and then into Kirkleatham Lane for a distance of 60m to the south. Residents will be consulted.
AUTUMN LEAVES: The Margrove Heritage Centre ends its summer season with a craft activity on Sunday, from 2pm to 4pm. Autumn Leaves is a drop-in craft activity for all the family. Participants will work with modelling clay, using the shapes and colours of autumn leaves as inspiration. The Skinningrove Bonfire exhibition also closes on Sunday.
ILLUSTRATED TALK: The 46th session of the Redcar Lecture Society will be held on Tuesday, at 7.30pm, in the United Reformed Church Hall, in Station Road. The lecture is entitled Spring Flowers in Crete, and other topics for discussion planned for October include Hadrian's Wall, the Falkland Islands and Colour of Paris. CHARITY EVENT: There will be a tombola, cake stall and craft stalls at Marske Leisure Centre between 10am and noon tomorrow. All proceeds go to Kidney Research.
CHOIR CONCERT: York Minster Choristers will perform at St John's Church, South Bank, near Middlesbrough, today. The concert begins at 7pm and tickets, priced £2.50, are available on (01642) 286455.
TAX HELP: Free advice on tax and National Insurance will be available at Middlesbrough's Cleveland Shopping Centre all next week. Inland Revenue advisers will be on hand between 9am and 5pm.
