Gayle Cup

THIS year's winner of the Gayle Mule Cup is N Iveson, whose Mule gimmer lambs sold for £86 at the NEMSA show and sale at Hawes, reported last week. Mr Iveson has won the cup on three previous occasions, 1993, 1995 and 1997.

The cup is awarded to the exhibitor of the top priced gimmer lambs bred in the Gayle area of Wensleydale. Second place this year was shared by C and M Hugill and T W Raw, both pens selling at £75.
