Five Quakers competed in The Great Cumbrian Half Marathon in Carlisle on 15 September.
Alistair Tatham, in usual fashion, was first Quaker home finishing fourth out of 546 competitors in a time of 1:13:52.
Others: Ian Scott was sixth in 1:15:35 and won the first over 45 vet category race. Dave Thompson finished 177th, 1:38:20, Mike Scott, 277th, 1:45:27 and Terry Deary, 394th, 1:55:04.
Nine Quakers competed in the Lockwood Bounder LDWA event.
Roseberry Topping and Captain Cook's Monument were just some of the features incorporated on the gruelling 23-mile self navigation course.
Andy Henderson was second overall in three hours, 21 minutes, followed by Nick Millar, fourth, 3.30, Keith Richardson, seventh, 3.52, Dawn Richardson, Andrea Tucker and Colin Morris finished joint 13th in 4.16, Jes Smith, 18th, 4.39 and Helen Hancock and Isabel Evans, joint 24th, 5.06.
The next Deadly Durham fell race sponsored by Terry Deary will be held this Sunday (29 September). Register on the day at Stanhope Ford, Stanhope, Weardale. Local knowledge/ navigational skills required. Start time 11.00am.
