A competition played in a Stableford format with ladies, gentlemen or mixed pairings, the Forbes Trophy was presented by the late David Forbes to commemorate his wife Joan's year of captaincy in 1977.
Leading scores as follows: 46 points Tim Waters and Julie Standen, 43 Colin Tipton and David Shields and Jim Shaw and Hubert Van Huet. Card countback required.
Harrogate and District Union of Golf Clubs
Bedale were well-represented in this matchplay competition with Kevin Ward and Sue Mayman reaching the final round played over Ilkley golf course the home course of the union president Jim Boddy.
Kevin having played and won his semi-final in the morning faced Harrogate Golf Club's Tim Moorhouse in the afternoon and eventually went down by 3&2 to Rim, who is enjoying an excellent golfing year.
In the Ladies competition Sue Mayman found herself up against Ruth Scaife, a previous winner on no less than four occasions, Sue eventually lost by a similar margin.
Bainbridge Shield
Vice captain David Blades and his team claimed victory for Bedale in this competition played over the summer months.
Seniors Stableford.
Good scoring for the elderly gentlemen on Friday morning as follows: 40 points Maurice Barlow (22) and Noel Winstanley (12, 35 Bill Coom (18) and Trevor Robotham (23), Card count back required.
Junior September Medal
Junior Captain James Patterson completed a successful golfing season by winning the final medal, but only claimed victory over Craig Johnston after a card countback. Leading scores: 58 James Patterson (12) and Craig Johnston (20); 71 William Abbotson (20), 73 Matthew Day (15).
