Spennymoor manager Tony Lee is delighted with his two latest signings, Tony Woodhouse and Ben Ryan, writes Ray Simpson.

Both have arrived from Northern League clubs - Woodhouse from Ashington and Ryan from South Shields - but unfortunately are cup-tied for Moors home FA Cup game with Atherton Collieries tomorrow. "They will both be assets to the squad," said Lee. "Tony had five or six efforts on goal, and hit the post once. He chased everything, even though the pace of the game was fast. It's a good job he's a fitness instructor!

"Ben made an instant impact last Saturday when he scored only seconds after coming on. he's as keen as mustard, just like Tony."

Lee was very pleased with the goals from Steve Bell and Jason Ainsley which beat Workington 2-1 on Tuesday night to maintain Moors' unbeaten record. "They were long distance goals straight from the top drawer," he said.

Bishop Auckland, meanwhile, slumped to another away defeat, this time 3-0 at Kendal Town.

Wayne Edgcumbe missed a penalty, and Brian Nelson was dismissed in the second half.

Bishops filled their vacant manager's job by appointing Brian Honour, who quit at Durham last week. One of Honour's first tasks will be to try and clinch Bishops' second league win of the season by bringing in some new players to bolster his squad. They are currently level bottom with Guiseley and Trafford.
