Ferryhill under-18 juniors made it three wins out of three in group two of the Auckland and District EBAC Youth League Cup with Saturday's 3-1 victory away to Newton Aycliffe. Chris Dixon (2) and Chris Hodgson scored for Ferryhill, Richard Walters replying for Aycliffe.

Trophy holders Willington also made it three wins out of three in the qualifying competition, winning 3-1 at home to Bishop Auckland in group one. John Maddison (2) and Martin Hopps were the Willington marksmen, Lee Atkinson on target for Bishops. Mark Beswick scored a hat trick for Chilton YC in their 4-1 success at home to Spennymoor Legion in group one. Sean Grant was the other Chilton scorer, Daniel Thompson on target for the Legion lads.

Meadowfield lost 4-2 at home to Barnard Castle in group two. Barnard Castle are looking for new players to strengthen their slim squad.

The league will play a representative game against the Durham County under-18 side at Washington FC on Tuesday October 1 (7.00). Chilton YC manager Norman Leighton is in charge of the league team.
