STUDENTS from a North Yorkshire school left the classroom behind for a week, pitting themselves against challenges set in the Yorkshire Dales.
The 32-strong party from Risedale Community College stayed at the Bewerley Park outdoor pursuits centre, on the edge of Pateley Bridge, and tried their hand at kayaking, abseiling, caving, gorge-walking, sailing and orienteering.
"All the students had a go at the activities, even though some of them were very daunting," said head of PE, John Hacking. "The staff at Bewerley Park are so experienced they help young people really be confident about what they are attempting. It was a great week.
