A DURHAM restaurant is celebrating after being re-awarded an accolade by one of the country's leading motoring organisations.

Knights Restaurant, part of the Kingslodge Hotel in Waddington Street, has been given two rosettes in the AA Restaurant Guide for 2003, maintaining the rating it got in the previous guide.

The AA's chief hotel and restaurant inspector David Young said: "Restaurants that have been awarded AA rosettes are among the best in the country.

General manager Roger Crozier said: "This is a tremendous achievement for the hotel and a reflection on the staff for all their hard work.

"Being the only restaurant in Durham City to be awarded this prestigious accolade confirms Knights Restaurant as one of the finest dining experiences in the region."
