TWO former schoolmates who have not met for 50 years have been reunited 3,000 miles away from 'home' - thanks to a school reunion.
Jenny Tuffin, nee Watson, and Les Emerson both learnt of their school reunion via the Friends Reunited website - then discovered that they now live an hour's drive apart in Canada.
They both decided to come home to Redcar to take part in the James McKinlay School reunion at the Regency Hotel in Redcar this week, which brought together pupils who left the school between 1945 and 1950.
"It's been lovely to see people I haven't met in more than 50 years," said Mrs Tuffin.
"I met Les back in Canada after we read about the reunion."
