A MATHS tutor who opened a study centre in Darlington is retiring.
Brian Fiske started the Darlington Kumon Study Centre in April 1992 with four students. Now there are 80 on the books.
During the past ten years, Mr Fiske has helped nearly 600 students with maths problems. He said: "I have enjoyed every minute with the great satisfaction of seeing students who previously struggled and lacked confidence enjoying maths. I feel I am going out on a high with a 100 per cent success rate for students who sat the GCSE this year."
Mr Fiske will be replaced by Wendy Malkin, a senior assistant for six years.
