STORES in Crook and Stanhope have been named as regional finalists in a Neighbourhood Shop of the Year competition.
The successful Alldays branches were nominated by customers for the award, which is run by Robert Wiseman Dairies.
The contest is open to 8,000 independent retailers across the UK. Over the next few weeks they will be visited by a team of mystery shoppers who will judge them on the friendliness of staff, the range of produce available, the level of service, opening hours and accessibility.
Regional winners will go forward to a national final at the St Andrews Bay Hotel, Fife, on December 13.
