READERS had the chance to find out how authors plan their plots at the weekend.
County Hall in Durham City hosted the first readers' day in the region run by newBOOKS.mag, which is for readers, reading groups, and local libraries.
The authors were Sara Banerji, author of Shining Hero, Lavinia Greenlaw, whose first novel was published earlier this year, popular author Cathy Kelly and County Durham writer Salley Vickers.
Maureen Robinson, of Durham County Council's cultural services department, said the event was a great opportunity to meet other book enthusiasts and reading group members.
"But there was also the added dimension of being able to talk to authors about their work and find out why the story unfolded as it did,'' she said.
