HEATING firm Myson Radiators has given £2,000 to an appeal for a children's hospice.
The eight-bed unit at St Oswald's Hospice, in Gosforth, near Newcastle, will care for the North-East's 1,200 youngsters with life-limiting conditions such as muscular dystrophy.
Its Jigsaw Appeal, launched in May 2000 to raise £5.1m, has now realised £4.6m.
Rather than provide heating for the hospice, Myson decided hospice staff should decide what to spend the cash on.
The unit will have play and therapy rooms where the whole family can relax and enjoy spending time together.
It is expected to be opened early next year.
