CAMPAIGNERS continue to fight to prevent North Yorkshire farmers being milked dry.
The battle to increase the farmer's share of milk prices will be taken to Harrogate Borough Council tomorrow.
Dairy farming businesses are in crisis across the region because of the meagre 16p they receive per litre on average.
Councillors Matthew Bean and Julian Sturdy will call on the council to exert pressure on the Government and demand a statement of policies from the Department for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs on how it will tackle the crisis.
Coun Bean said: "This is a crazy situation with profits being made in the industry and yet none of it going to the farmer. This must change.
"I will be calling on the council to make sure this issue is kept in the public eye and that the crisis is not just brushed under the carpet."
