A PRIMARY school in Hartlepool has been described as "very effective" after a visit by Government inspectors.
Lynnfield Primary School was inspected by Ofsted in June as part of a national programme of school inspection.
The report said: "This is a very effective school.
"The school strives for excellence. It provides a personal oasis for the children, but, at the same time, challenges them to do well regardless of their starting point or individual difficulties."
Management, teaching and attainment levels also came in for praise.
The report said: "The school is helping pupils make very good progress in their learning but also equips them for life and helps them explore and develop their own characters."
Headteacher Joy Lowe said: "We are delighted with the report, which recognises the hard work and effort from everyone in the school."
