A town centre play area was sealed off after a man's body was found today morning.
The body of Anthony Garnon, 35, of Darlington was found hanging from a climbing frame in the Denes area of the town.
The area was immediately cordoned off by police and scenes of crime officers recovered the body.
It is believed Mr Garnon committed suicide and a spokesman for Durham police said there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death.
He said: "The body of a man was found hanging from a children's climbing frame by a member of the public just after 7.30am.
"There are no suspicious circumstances and the coroner has been informed."
