THE Mayor of Darlington has visited art students to see them put the finishing touches to large-scale sculptures.
Councillor Doris Jones pre-viewed the work of 36 art and design students at the Queen Elizabeth Sixth Form College in preparation for the Mayor's Charity Ball, being held on October 18.
The students have been asked to view Darlington through the eyes of famous artists to create sculptures and painted panels for an artist's garden at the ball.
The ball will be held in the town's Dolphin Centre, and tickets cost £32 each.
All monies raised will be donated to the mayor's chosen charities.
