A DALES auction house is doubling as a showcase for local talent, with work by 25 artists from North Yorkshire included in an exhibition at Tennants of Leyburn.
Ripon Cathedral was the first to show their paintings during the city's arts festival, which attracted an estimated 10,000 people.
However, Tennants has agreed to bring the show to a new audience, with management considering similar events in future.
Spokesman Rory Wardroper said: "This is an exciting new venture which deserves wide support. It is hoped it will become an annual event from which local charities will benefit."
Pictures which sold at the cathedral have been replaced with new ones in Leyburn and a number of artists have changed their displays.
Pictures on show cover a very wide range of styles and vary in size. Prices start at £150 and go up to several thousand pounds.
The exhibition is open to the public each weekday from 10am to 5pm and on Saturday, October 12, October 19 and October 26, when auctions will be taking place. Admission is free.
