HELPING OUT: Wolsingham Parish Council is considering plans to make minor alterations to the pavilion at the recreation ground so the football academy, which meets there every Saturday, can store its equipment.
COFFEE DATE: A coffee morning in aid of Weardale Community Hospital is being held at the Ireshopeburn Literary Institute on Saturday, October 19, from 10am to 12 noon. There will be a raffle, tombola and cakes and plants sale.
HARVEST FESTIVAL: The preacher at the harvest festival service being held at Wooley Terrace Methodist Chapel, Stanley Crook, on Sunday (Oct 6) will be David Dobinson. The following Monday there will be a sale of fruit and vegetables at the chapel at 7pm, followed by a harvest supper.
POPPY APPEAL: Vounteers are needed to help with this year's Poppy Day appeal in the Wolsingham area. Anyone interested should contact Jane Bushell on (01388) 528918.
JUBILEE MEDALS: Any children in the Wolsingham area who have not yet collected their Golden Jubilee medals are asked to go along to the parish council office in the Town Hall. There are still a number of medals, priced 1(pounds) 50p still available.
PARKING PAYOUT: Visiting motorists donated just over 50 (pounds) to the honesty box in the car park at Wolsingham recreation ground during July and August.
