VILLAGERS browsing at a market can now learn about computers.
Lanchester Community Association is holding its annual Petticoat Lane Market as part of a grand open day in the village's community centre on Saturday, October 12.
A range of stalls, displays, demonstrations and activities are planned, including a demonstration of digital photography and computers by Pathfinder volunteers and the project team.
The project team will also be showing how computers can be used to help people with their hobbies and interests, and they will be collecting names for basic IT courses for those who have never used a computer before.
The Pathfinders Project is a partnership between Durham County Council, One NorthEast and the county's Learning and Skills Council.
It is aimed at people living in rural areas without easy access to IT in community centres or schools, or who might be reluctant to go to college.
The open day, which will run from 9.30am to 1.30pm, also includes the annual meeting of the Lanchester Partnership.
