A HERBAL remedies expert is keeping a 60-year tradition going by starting her own shop.
Until last Saturday, Pauline Wilson worked as an assistant at Black's Health Food Shop, in Claypath, Durham. But with the shop's closure after 60 years, its presence in the city was set to end.
Now Mrs Wilson, a qualified homeopath with a diploma in herbal medicine, is transferring the skills she practised for six-and-a-half years at Black's to her own shop - The Health Cabin, in Durham's indoor market.
It sells a range of organic products, gluten-free foods, herbal medicines and homeopathic medicines.
Mrs Wilson said: "There are a lot of people in Durham who like this sort of thing and I didn't want to go out of Durham altogether.
"I have been telling quite a few Black's customers and they said they were over the moon that I was setting up here."
