PLANS to extend the opening hours of a lap dancing club in Stockton have met opposition from residents.
Stockton Borough Council has received an application from Angels, in Dovecot Street, to move its closing time from midnight to 1am.
A letter to the council from the Town Centre Residents Community Forum said: "The members of the community forum believe the later opening hours would cause unwanted nuisance for the neighbouring residents.
"It is also believed the extension to the licence would create more problems for our already over-stretched police force."
The police have not objected to the plan.
Members of the council's licensing committee will meet today to discuss it.
