A BAR room brawl ended in the death of a mother-of-five, a court heard yesterday.
Teresa Mennell, 59, died from a single blow inflicted by Colin Mattinson in February, while drinking at the Metropole in High Street, Gateshead.
Mattinson, 21, of Prince Consort Road, Gateshead, pleaded guilty to manslaughter at Newcastle Crown Court. His mother, Joyce, 41, and a 17-year-old pleaded guilty to violent disorder relating to the same incident. They will be sentenced on October 28.
Mrs Mennell's son, Colin Frazer, 40, of Scarborough, will also be sentenced that day after pleading guilty to violent disorder.
