A woman who died when a fire gutted her County Durham home has been named as Jane Christine Mitchell.
Police investigating Tuesday's blaze in Bishop Auckland say the exact cause of Mrs Mitchell's death is not yet known, but there are no suspicious circumstances.
A neighbour raised the alarm at about 11am. Firefighters forced their way into the house, in Wesley Grove, to get the 50-year-old out, but doctors at Bishop Auckland General Hospital were unable to save her.
The fire is believed to have started in a rear bedroom. An inquest is expected to be opened in the next few days.
