PRINCESS Anne gave her Royal blessing to Bishop Auckland's new community project when she visited the town on Friday.
She arrived by helicopter at King James 1 School to open the Four Clocks Project, in Newgate Street, where Bishop Auckland Community Partnership have spearheaded a £1.2m campaign to convert the old Wesley Chapel.
With partnership chairman the Rev Michael Thompson and project director Meg Brown, the Princess Royal toured the building, chatting with staff and guests.
Dr Thompson said the visit had made for 'a memorable day.'
