Bull's Head 1 North Skelton 2: North Skelton defied early season form to come out on top in the East Cleveland derby.
Sean Mathews gave them the best possible start firing home a 20 yard free kick with ten minutes gone and Mark Sherwood gave the visitors the cushion of a second goal when he hit an unstoppable 25 yarder following an excellent build up. Bulls came out with all guns blazing in the second half but it was not until 15 minutes from time that they pulled a goal back through Andy Hopwood.
The Grenadier 2 B & H Kings Head 5
Kings Head remain the only side with a 100 per cent record following their win against the Grenadier but they must have wondered what had hit them when they trailed 2-0 with only six minutes on the clock. Craig Bishop volleyed home what must go down as the quickest ever goal in the history of the Stokesley League - a mere six seconds after the start and minutes later, Bishop added a second from the penalty. Sadly for the Grenadier it was all downhill from there, with Kings Head pulling a goal back before half time and then going into overdrive after the break scoring four without reply.
Thornaby Mandale 5 Woodman's Arms 2
Mandale took a three minute lead thanks to a tap in from Andrew Dyson but although Woodmans equalised on ten minutes, the league leaders restored their advantage when Dyson chipped the keeper from the edge of the area.
Stephen Lambert set up Lee O Toole to make it 3-1 but on the stroke of half time, Woodmans came back once again following a good build up. The crucial goal came ten minutes after the break when substitute Bradley Murray slotted the ball into the bottom corner of the net and a penalty conversion by John Gittens put the game beyond the Woodmans reach.
Redcar Coke Ovens 1 Middlesbrough Post Office 3
Post Office moved up to third in the table despite playing with ten men for much of the game.
A goal from Stewart Rose and a penalty from Paul Davies put the Posties in control midway through the first half. Shortly before the break however, they had a player sent off for deliberate handball although keeper Adrian Welch minimised the damage when he saved the resulting spot kick. The visitors increased their lead still further with a thundering twenty five yard drive from Lee Hogg and it was not until ten minutes from time that Coke Ovens got some reward for their efforts when Anthony Gregory scored.
Coulby Newham 2 Stokesley 2
Jordan Smith put Stokesley in front when he went through one on one with the keeper but by half time it was all square after Coulby man of the match Andrew March scored on the stroke of half time. Coulby took the lead through Richard May but Stokesley bounced back when Michael Bulmer cut in from the wing before scoring.
Stockton Elementis 2 Ennis Square 2
Goals from Lee Brady and Lee Johnstone put Ennis in a strong position at the interval but Elementis hit back after half time. Mark Allison reduced the arrears and late in the game, Tim Brown struck to level the contest.
Thornaby Village 14 Black Horse 0
Black Horse suffered another heavy defeat this time on their travels to Thornaby. Roger Deaves was top marksman for the home side with Geoff Belt scoring twice.
Mark Casey. Michael Allison, Ian Liversidge, Paul Todd, Stephen Roberts and Paul Jennison also made their mark in a very one sided contest.
Yorkshire Old Boys Shield 1st. Round
Old Mods 4 St Mary's College 2
The College returned empty handed from heir trip to Leeds although despite the result, they took some consolation from a fine performance that only saw them shaded out in the latter stages of the game.
They went behind in the first half but bounced back with Craig Silloth heading the equaliser and Mark Elliott chipping the keeper from outside the box on the hour mark.
The last twenty minutes however saw Old Modernians first draw level and then in the closing stages of the game, hitting two goals in quick succession that were enough for the Leeds side to book their place in the next round of the competition.
