Durham Ranking Tournament: Michael Rhodes came through to win the penultimate with a whitewash success in the final tournament at Durham Snooker Club over Colin Hutchinson, who occupies the second place in the Ranking List ready for the 'Big Money' Final event to be held in November.

In the semi-finals Michael Rhodes beat Ian Bertram 4-1, whilst Colin Hutchinson beat Chris Bowran 4-2.

Bishop Auckland and District League
Crook Coach and Horses clinched the runners-up spot in their first season in the league after they beat the visiting Toft Hill Three Tuns by seven points. The Coach had two points each from Neil Campbell, Les Scott and Aaron Cowan with Michael Burke adding one. The Tuns replied with two points from Graham Cummins and one from Peter Carnigan. The Coach took the doubles with a win for Aaron Cowan and Neil Campbell with landlord, Les Scott adding the finishing touch by taking both captain's points against Vince Hunt.

Bishop Auckland Area League
After a close match last week the reverse fixture between the Henknowle Manor and Spennymoor Voltigeur proved just as tight. The visiting Manor got off to a bright start when Ron Wright and Peter Mernor won the opening two singles. The score was then tied when David Mains and Kelvin Anderson took points for the home side before Steven Webb put the visitors in front again. Two points from David Mains and Andy Mole gave the Voltigeur the lead before Steven Webb evened the score again. The last two games were shared with Darren Briggs winning for the home side and Ron Wright for the visitors to leave the scores level at five each after the singles. Peter Mernor and John Tomlinson won the first doubles for the visitors and then Ron Wright and Martin Armstrong took the second. Steven Webb completed a good win for the Manor by taking the captains game to leave the final score at 5-8.
Last year's champions, Bishop Auckland Kings Head were at home to Bishop Auckland Bay Horse in the reverse fixture and made up for last week's defeat with a 12-1 win. CIU Pairs Championship
