BRAVE people are invited to survive a scary walk this Halloween to raise money for a local hospice.
Students from Bishop Auckland College will dress as ghosts and ghouls to haunt the grounds of Whitworth Hall Country Park, near Spennymoor, on October 31.
People of all ages can test their nerves by taking part in a scary walk around the grounds to raise money for the Butterwick Hospice, in Woodhouse Lane.
There will also be fancy dress and Halloween lantern contests. Children can visit Bobby Shafto's Playbarn and enjoy party food.
Fundraiser Sylvia Stoneham said: "Last year's event was very popular, so we are having to limit places, but everyone is sure to have a really scary time."
Tickets cost £5 for the full event, or £1.50 for just the walk and £1 for accompanying adults. They are available from the hospice on (01388) 603003, or from Shafto's Inn and Restaurant, Whitworth Hall Country Park. Early booking is recommended.
