SCHOOLCHILDREN gave the conventional curriculum a miss yesterday, to learn how to learn.
Experts in study skills ran workshops for pupils in their final year at Kings Manor School, Middlesbrough,
Teacher Peter Dawes said: "The aim is to invest in the pupils potential, providing them with different ways of thinking, revising, time management and motivation.''
Experts ran day-long workshops for the pupils before moving on to staff and then parents. The idea of the initiative is to increase student confidence and ability.
Mr Dawes said: "If this proves as successful, as we hope, then it could well be adopted elsewhere in the school, and the findings shared with other schools on Teesside."
